When have Republicans ever limited spending? How did this ridiculous idea develop that these Republicans are fiscally responsible?

And YES---this is exactly what you voted for
A man who is a malignant narcissist, who acknowledges no bounds to his ego or his will, who wants what he wants when he wants it, who never takes responsibility for any act with negative consequences, who lacks hindsight--not to mention foresight....
You got exactly whom you voted for---Donald John Trump...

Rand Paul could have won the primary instead of a clown, and that would have done some good. Relatively speaking.

But too many people fell for the shtick.

LOL.

Defies logic, doesn't it?

But each party has their reputations. We mustn't disappoint the viewer at home.

Growing government at a breakneck pace with record levels of spending

There is absolutely no reason for the republican party to exist at this point if this is what they are going to accomplish with the most power they have had in 100 years .The Republican leadership is so weak. At this point who cares who wins the midterms, the Democrats are going to get what they want anyway

The explanation for this, is that the Republicans have no power. They are embroiled in intramural conflict, plagued by radical and despised fringe factions and totally unable to deal with the madman that technically is at the head of the party. They are on the brink of collapse, that will be obvious to all, with the fall elections and since they had no moral compass from the beginning, they are incapable of bettering themselves.

Republicans have rarely been in control of Congress, AND the Presidency. However, they are now, and career, Establishment Republicans are WORSE than Democrats. They want to grow government to increase their piece of the pie. It is all about their political careers, wealth, and power.

That would ordinarily make me very happy, except that like all legislation during this era of congressional chaos, the details of what's actually in the bill, are unknown to us (and probably unknown to members of congress, as well).

I saw WH legislative director today say on MSNBC (I think) that they got enough money for 110 miles of wall.

And, then, Paul Ryan says this:
Quote:
"This bill starts construction on the wall. It turns the Gateway decision over to the Trump administration. It funds our war on opioids. It invests in infrastructure. It funds school safety and mental health," Ryan said at a press conference on Thursday. "But what this bill is ultimately about—what we fought for for so long—is finally giving our military the tools and the resources it needs to do the job."

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/...ng-bill-479403
And then, from FOX:
Quote:
Trump had requested $1.6 billion in funding for the border wall, with additional money for border technology, and appeared to have secured that in the spending bill. But a closer look indicates that it differs from what Trump requested.

The $1.6 billion funding offers:

Some $251 million for 14 miles of “secondary fencing” along the southwest border in the San Diego Sector.

Why is the r-wing so unhappy? Surely, they didn't expect to be getting the whole $22 billion all at once for this boondoggle? It's bad enough seeing as Trump PROMISED Mexico would pay for it.

Crybabies.

Yep, I'm starting to think the Rs don't WANT to be the majority party. The can't govern. They want to stay minority so they don't have to actually accomplish anything except complain about democrats......

I am excluding the Freedom Caucus, Trey Gowdy, Jim Jordan, Rand Paul, and a few honorable others who seem to be on their own trying to actually govern and do what the voters asked of them....
