There's also talk about Kevin McCarthy becoming Speaker of the House. That would be like jumping from the frying pan, into the fire. McCarthy is a hard supporter of Trump, right from the beginning. He was a key figure in the sham series of investigations of Hillary Clinton, about the Benghazi Incident. He was a leader in the opposition to the ACA and has taken a hard-right stand on almost every other issue. People who favor a House that becomes more balanced and would serve the country, rather than right-wing ideologues, should be opposed to him getting this position, whether they are Republicans or Democrats.

GOOD!!!

Ryan has been the biggest RINO in the House. He should resign after pushing through that monstrosity of a budget!

So, you'd be fine with anyone who is at odds with Trump? You want the government to grind to a complete halt, yes?

I guess there should just be a Democrat Party? Seems to be the way it is now, with many of the Ds have an R trailing their names.

BTW, that blue wave is starting to look like a puddle. The fact the Dems were so giddy over this outrageous 1.3T debt will bite them in the butts, just watch.

The Dems and Pubs just saddled every man woman and child with $4000 more debt over less than a year!!! OMG what a bombastic farce!

Why would he quit now?
Perhaps to announce a Presidential run early next year without the stigma of losing in the 2016 mid-terms?

Actually, no, that's probably not true. You know the old saying, "Republicans fall in line"? Republicans are much better at bullying their own people than Democrats are.

Yes---that is why with a GOP president they were able to effect a swift and complete repeal of the ACA and designed and passed a new unified health care plan for the country...wishin the first 6 months of the presidency...

LOL. Trump doesnt even remotely define Conservatism. So yes, its possible conservatives, or even GOP members might object to him taking down their party. Under Trump a lot of them look to lose their jobs.

Please. GOP majority in the house and senate. This is their omnibus package. If they wanted to they could have passed anything they wanted.

And the tax cuts added 10,000 per person. Where were you? The Republicans adding another 4K should not be a surprise to you. This IS what they do.

Good riddance to Ryan. He's read the writing on the wall. Unfortunately, McConnell seems to be blind. Maybe when Peter Schweitzer's book Secret Empire gets more play, revealing how he and his wife got so rich, he will retire to avoid being booted out.

Wow -- that would be great news! Ryan is a disaster for everyone.

And there’s more:
Squire Patton Boggs also represents China, a long list of corporate clients, including AT&T, Amazon.com, Goldman Sachs & Co., Royal Dutch Shell, and the Managed Funds Association, a trade group for the largest hedge funds in the country.

Boehner is signing onto Squire Patton Boggs “as a strategic advisor to clients in the U.S. and abroad, and will focus on global business development.”

The news comes just a week after the announcement that Boehner will be joining the board of Reynolds American, the tobacco company responsible for brands such as Camel and Newport cigarettes. The tobacco board seat will likely earn Boehner over $400,000 a year in stock and cash. The Squire Patton Boggs salary has not been disclosed, but lawmakers of Boehner’s stature have easily obtained salaries at similar gigs in the seven-figure range.
More reason for Ryan to quit.
