A Los Angeles judge has issued a final ruling requiring coffee to carry cancer warning labels in California.
Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle issued his decision that Starbucks and other coffee companies failed to show that benefits from drinking coffee outweighed any risks.
I am a coffee drinker....but rarely get Starbucks...maybe several times a year.
You'd be much more likely to get high cholesterol from the milk or other health issues from high amounts of sugar and high fructose corn syrup than cancer.
They aren't clear in the article -- is the cancerous chemical "caused" from the roasting of coffee, or is it added as a separate chemical during the roasting? If it's the former, then all brands of coffee would have to be labeled in CA, even organic......
