Repubs, having won all branches and having full control needed to create a new excuse, if you prefer a new enemy to keep their supporters engaged.... so they took the "deep state" thing and doubled down on it..
They can't blame democrats for their failure to fix Trumpland, so they are currently blaming a nebulous "deep state'. Keep in mind the poeple who are being called "deep state" are career folk who were there for decades and not once did you hear Bush's people whine about deep state or any other such boogeyman.. .. remember these are people who have worked in gov all their lives, and suddenly they are against Republicans??? reallY? why is it that the repubs were not complaining about deep state 3, 5, 8, 10 years ago?
The Repubs will forget all about the deep state if the Dems take the house or senate, once that happens they will go back to blaming Dems instead.
I give the repubs credit for coming up with excellent tall tales and scary stories that keep their folk hunkered down and voting themselves into poverty.
