WTF? This is so not "normal". What do these guys have on Trump?? This is a great way to show solidarity with our allies regarding Russia's use of a nerve agent in the UK among other things. Vladimir Putin is two bit dictator in Russia and we have a President that acts like his lap dog.

The Treasury Department has softened its position on sanctions against Russian metals giant Rusal—Oleg Deripaska’s company—giving it a 6-month reprieve while considering the company's appeal.

Because the company itself is not under sanctions, its majority shareholder is, thus the company became part of it. The company filed an appeal.

Then why soften the sanctions right now?? Especially in light of a nerve agent attack on our strongest ally.

Because it is under appeal. The company itself is not the target, the majority shareholder is, so due to this, the company became wrapped up in the issue, but plays no actual part in the sanctions. The company appealed it, and so the sanctions have been relieved while going through the appeal process. This also gives time for the company and its consumers and suppliers to make adjustments, if needed, including the person under sanctions to give up its majority stake if that is what ultimately will be needed.

If the company itself was the target of sanctions, it would be a different scenario.

Russia's Evraz bought Colorado's CF&I from an Oregon company back in 2007 for 2.3 Billion.

In 2007, Trump was in his 3rd Season of the Apprentice.

Nice poster.

Did you copyright that yourself?

Well it turns out Trump spent over 45 hours in Moscow before and after Miss Universe. So Putin must have some cool porn on the POTUS. Might as well let one of Putin's guys off the hook.

They are not letting anyone off the hook, as explained, the company itself is not a target of sanctions, they became wrapped up in it due to a majority owner being a target. The company filed an appeal so their are sanctions relief until the appeal decision is made, and during this time, consumers and suppliers have more time to make adjustments. The company also can make adjustments to not come under sanctions.
