Amsterdam is doing just fine. Perhaps their citizens are more responsible than ours.
They probably are...largely due to upbringing.
My parents are immigrants, and they've always been bewildered by my American friends' parents.
Compared to parenting styles where they're from, American parents tend to be much more authoritarian and strict.
Inevitably when they finally get a taste of freedom, they go nuts.
Same thing happens on a larger scale with the antagonistic and heavy-handed way the government treats Americans.
When your only motivation to abide by the law is fear of the government, other motivations fall by the wayside. Motivations such as simply being a decent person and contributing to the peace and harmony of society.
Seriously, I know where public opinon is on this but its still happening.
You go into black neighborhoods you'll see it, this **** is put on their personal record.
How can we live in a country like this, why is this still happening? Is their no special interest to force this down the throats of our congressmen?
we have these things in this country called laws, and one of those laws makes marijuana illegal to own, sell or smoke. whaat ever your opinion of these laws is doesnt matter. if you want to change the laws, then get your backside to washington and lobby for a change. until then we have to follow these laws whether we like them or not.

Let me take this slowly for you.
We have 3 branches of government
They are the executive, the legislative, and the judical
The legislative branch passes laws such as the one you are questioning
The people of the United States VOTED for those representatives to pass laws
The legislature we voted for passed those laws
The legislative branch does it's job (or not, as the case may be) and enforces those laws
Don't like the laws? Get involved and vote in people that will change them
Hey, you can't smoke pot in a Post Office building.
It's, like, a federal discretionairy kinda thing, or something.
You can't smoke or drink in a Post Office building anyway. Again, have you ever question why the federal government would want to make marijuana illegal?
Nope, unfortunately some people don't question these things.
I used to be that way. I never really questioned why it was illegal, or at the very least, it was drilled into me that people who smoked weed were evil and needed to be treated like criminals and deviants. It was when I got to college that I started to question these things.
Why is it illegal on a federal level? Have you ever questioned that?
I never gave it any thought as it literally has 0 impact on me. I know that is weak, but it is also the truth.
Just Like I have never questioned why the speed limit on a road I never drive on is whatever it is.
I suspect that the answer has something to do with power and control.

Since a $Trillion dollars has been spent (wasted) on The War against it, it has had a much larger impact on you than you think...
