I don't think they should have one.

Likely a hold-out from 200 years ago.

I'd like to see them go through government and phase out all positions like this.

Not to mention the whole pesky separation of church and state thing.

If someone wants to talk to clergy then let them go to their own church, mosque, bar or whatever.

Perfect description of the gutless Ryan.

They'll find one of those gospel of wealth guys they all seem to like. Forget the true Christian value of caring for the poor.

What a bunch of hypocrites.

Listen, it's alright to be honest here, after all, this is an anonymous forum.

Do you honestly believe Mr. Ryan asked Mr. Conroy to offer his resignation as the 60th chaplain of the United States House of Representatives for the above reasons?

We all know why Ryan insisted he resign. Things aren't that big a mystery here.

Nonetheless, I'm for saving the $415,000/year.

1) Constitution is clear about government not be sponsoring any certain religion.

2) Given the number of unsavory situations that have come to light recently, it is clear that not even a Jesuit is up to the task of keeping those in Congress on the straight and narrow.
