May 4th was when President Nixon ordered the National guard to stop peaceful rallies at Kent State university students who were protesting the Vietnam war.

Quote:
Twenty-eight guardsmen fired approximately 67 rounds over a period of 13 seconds, killing four students and wounding nine others, one of whom suffered permanent paralysis.

What do you think about it? I think shooting unarmed students at a peaceful rally is a crime against humanity. Those responsible should have gone to jail, including Nixon!

Lots of ties to Kent, I left Ohio two years later and still can't understand, but it was the beginning of the turning point.

Sarcasm isn't your strongest quality. Nor is google. Perhaps 30 seconds with Google and finding your state's militia websites will answer that question.
