Guess what: that's entirely legal and exactly what anyone seeking asylum is supposed to do. It's not illegal, they are not invading, they are not illegal immigrants or illegal residents at all.

Now you can argue whether or not it's a good idea for this group of people to try to come here, or if it's wise to take small children along with them, or what the make-up of the group is, or if admitting them will destroy our economy and take jobs from American citizens - go right ahead and argue about that, if you want to - but you cannot say that they are planning on doing anything illegal or in opposition to American laws by applying for asylum at the border at entry points designated for asylum applicants.

That's just what asylum seekers are legally required to do, and this group has said that is what they intend to do.

So knock off the rabble-rousing, panic stricken, xenophobic posts and accusations. They are not becoming, and they are untrue.

Lol, and you just got upset in another post because I called those who are pro-illegal and rooting on this caravan as being anti-American? You called it name calling and yet here you are using the word xenophobic against those of us who merely want our border protected.

Who's panic stricken? It seem it's your side that is all panic stricken just because Trump is sending troops to the border awaiting this caravan. The troops will also be a deterrant to those who may choose to turn back instead of continuing on up to our border. Seems like it's working according to you and your's own admission.

No one is saying that it's illegal for them to apply at a legal port of entry for aylum but since we cannot process several thousand all at once (if that's the number that actually makes the full trip) what are we to do?

TRUMP: A TRUE STORY
The mogul, in a 2007 deposition, had to face up to a series of falsehoods and exaggerations. And he did. Sort of.

This & much more history are likely why his current counsel want to avoid him testifying under oath in a court of law. He's simply unprepared to tell the truth because it's simply not his nature & has seldom benefited him to do so.

Maybe just maybe the problem is how we tend to describe what is going on in a rather uninformed manner, or...

For starters, those of us who think Trump's call to arms and goofy approach to dealing with our immigration issues are not "anti-American" as just about all Trump supporters want to insist. Or if to inform, just who exactly are these people "rooting on this caravan?"

How about rather than name calling, we do some fact checking?

Worst case, we've got several thousand "all at once" standing in line for an awfully long time before getting their due process like everyone else, but let's make out like this is some sort of foreign invasion and let's send our troops to fight off this threat so Trump supporters can enjoy more pleasures of their own imagination.

Democrats excused Obama when he lied by saying politicians lie. So now the excuse doesn't work for you?

They violently bashed through two other national borders, they violently attacked police and military there. Sensible people would be forgiven for considering the same might happen when they reach the US border. Also, as far as I understand, you claim asylum at the first safe country, Mexico in this case. You cant say "No thanks we prefer America". So all your assertions that what they are doing is reasonable and legal are wrong.

Do not know where that idea came from that you only get to claim asylum in one country.

Whoever put that out belongs on this Thread as they lied.

So I guess I will be the one to educate you.

The Comitatus act prohibits the use of the military on US soil, with one exception, and that is invasion.

It does not state what type of invasion, so Trump's order to use them at the border is one hundred % legal.

These migrants headed here are an invasion force.
If the country were suddenly invaded by giant man eating insects, the military could be called up to defend the country.

Invasion does not mean just some other military force.

One more very important fact is, as President, he is the commander in chief of all military, and if he orders that they be deployed, they are deployed.
There is no "asking" the pentagon, or anyone else.

His sworn duty to protect the constitution, and country is what is in play here.
If he decides to call up the military, that is his responsibility, and his alone.

Yes. We get Trump Republican explanations.
Strollers with babies, pregnant women, large young men with baseball caps and daypacks are hundreds of miles headed toward the US Border to invade us by working fields, restaurants, hotels, street vendors....requires a military defense response.

Very Nixonian like... opening fire on students on their own college campus...firebombing Vietnemese families in order to...? keep America safe from ...?

Nonsense waste of other peoples money. Aka Trump Republicans. It is more of what it is. Republican actions of doing alot of nothing for the Country to pepper their own interests.

Because of summer vacation schedules, we had fallen a month behind in updating The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president.

It turns out that’s when the president decided to turn on the spigots of false and misleading claims. As of day 558, he’s made 4,229 Trumpian claims — an increase of 978 in just two months.
