Why would there? No one cares about Guatemala. They're headed by a dictator Trump acoylte trying to curry favor with Trump, BTW.

Israel will continue to murder Gaza residents regardless.

Costa Rica relocated its embassy to Jerusalem in 1984 but moved it back to Tel Aviv in 2006. There is just no night life in Jerusalem. Living in Jerusalem is like living in Kiryas Joel, a real hardship.

Good, all the more reason to move the embassy. They are there to work not drink and party.

Why does it need to? Im not trying to be snide , but why does it need to benefit the US to do the normal thing and put our embassy in the capital of a country , and per the request of the host country?

Word has it the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau & of course who could forget Togo as all following suit.

Hardly a ringing endorsement by any measure of what the "bigger" world thinks of the recent move to make recognize Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel.

The optics still look bad and does Israel even care anymore of it's perception on the world stage?

But only the important ones.

Guatemala was one of nine nations that voted with the United States and Israel on Thursday when the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly adopted a non-binding resolution denouncing Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

The optics look bad for Hamas-backed Palestinians who will never accept the existence of Israel under any circumstances.

The world's major countries will move their embassies to Jerusalem too, eventually. It is only a matter of time.

Israel is supposed to care how the world that has consistently tried to kill its people perceives them now that they refuse to be passively abused anymore ?
