The records for gun running to the Mexican cartels that got at least 1 American killed is to be released by the DOJ . We may finally see what was so important or corrupt that Obama declared Executive Privilege and Holder was declared in Contempt of Congress.

Obama promised a transparent Presidency. Looks like we'll finally see past that lie.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the Justice Department would hand over documents to the Republican-led House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that had been withheld by Democratic former President Barack Obama's administration.

In June 2012, the Republican-led House voted to hold Attorney General Eric Holder, an Obama appointee, in contempt for failing to turn over documents about the operation. The committee sued Holder for access to the documents in August 2012. Obama asserted executive privilege to block the disclosure of the documents.

Democrats at the time accused Republicans of engaging in a partisan witch hunt.

Good. Maybe we will get all the information.

Odd that last June, Jeff Sessions outright refused to appear before the House Oversight Committee and answer questions about Fast and Furious, even prohibiting any justice department employee to take his place:

While Mr. Sessions now speaks of 'transparency', it was only at the point of a gun, if you will.

i doubt anything new about the actual Fast and Furious operation will come out since these documents deal with the Obama administration's response to Fast and Furious and the operation itself.

But its interesting to see what comes from the weakening of Executive Privilege at a time when members of the current administration refuse to provide responses to questions based on Executive Privilege even without having the President invoke it.

Democratic leadership gave guns to Mexican drug dealers. What else do we need to know about what these fools did?

How does that get discussed? Hey I have an idea, lets arm Mexican drug dealers. What could go wrong?

Between arming drug dealers and arming rebels in Benghazi no wonder the left doesn't like the second amendment. Americans die. Two groups the NRA wouldn't arm and the left does. Way to go slappy.

"Democratic Leadership" had nothing to do with the creation of operation Fast and Furious according to investigation into the operation.

But there was evidence of communication between the White House and the BATF regarding Fast & Furious.

White House received emails about Fast and Furious gun-trafficking operation

Quote:
According to the emails, William D. Newell, then the ATF field supervisor for Arizona and New Mexico, was in close contact with O'Reilly and sought the White House's help to persuade the Mexican government to let ATF agents recover U.S. guns across the border.
After earlier emails from Newell to O'Reilly surfaced, Newell testified to congressional investigators in July that the two were friends and acknowledged that he probably should not have sent them to him. But the new emails indicate that Newell and O'Reilly were in deeper discussions about gun operations on the border

What's most important about F&F was that we never got a plausible explanation for why it was thought to be a good idea to ship guns to Mexican cartels. The explanations we got were on the order of 'dog ate my homework.'

The most plausible explanation remains that some political actor thought they could use the carnage to push for gun control legislation. Since we never learned the truth, common sense says that this was a grand cover-up.

We do know that President Obama told Sarah Brady that he was working on gun control 'under the radar.'

Quote:
During the meeting, President Obama dropped in and, according to Sarah Brady, brought up the issue of gun control, “to fill us in that it was very much on his agenda,” she said.
“I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

Why are you linking to articles prior to the conclusion of the IG's report. The IG goes into great detail on the communications involving Fast and Furious. Bottom Line, it was not an operation initiated by Obama or Holder.
