"Pretty simple" for us, Joe. For the non-thinkers, this is a difficult task. Maybe they need to attend a Trump Rally, like we did!

I have never been to a political rally of any kind, and I wouldn't want to. And when things like this occur at some of the Trump rallies:

I'm not saying this has happened at every Trump rally. However, as a Black person, this makes me a bit weary.

Some demand a little more than being called "American" (that's something given). Did Trump deliver his promises?

BTW, terrorists, obama, hillary would call you "American" as well. Flattered?

Just the facts.
In what way exactly? Elaborate.

One day, maybe you could make it to Porcfest. It's an anti-political libertarian gathering every June in New Hampshire. The most tolerant, accepting place you'll ever see.

It does, or at least it's the same type of people I saw when I went to a Trump rally in Tampa. Ugly people around me (I was inside). Reddest of the rednecks, and I have a lot of tolerance for rednecks as some of them are pretty decent people in my neck of the woods. But these guys were down right scary, racist, misogynistic and not people I would want to be around, nor have them around my children.

I won't repeat some of the things I heard in the crowd around me. I would get banned from here.

Rules that force teen girls to share a locker room with a boy that self-identifies as a female does nothing to protect real girls.

Pandering to every conceivable sex subgroup at the expense of male and female is the desperate act of a political organization in it's death throws.

Why not let property owners set their own restroom/locker room policies?

Well, Scooby, I can think of ONE type of people who would -- and the answer is deeper than "criminals and bullies", although it certainly includes them.

One thing I noticed about their excuses, rationalizations, and pseudo-justifications is that they think certain people are in some way "defective" or "incongruent with our culture (e.g., "weak", "weird", "timid", "stupid", "incompetent", etc.). It's as if they think strength, "street smart" type of intelligence and cunning, and courage are the only proper yardsticks for sizing up a person's worthiness of respect or disrespect. Meanwhile, they see civilized, human traits like respectful behavior, open-mindedness, tolerance, compassion, and just plain being "nice" as a consolation prize for those who fail to measure up to their idea of respect-worthy people; or at best as boring but important traits for the strong, smart, and brave among us.

This attitude may work among wild animals, but not among human societies, especially in the long run. This is particularly true in any society that's even arguably a civilization and even more so in Industrial Era societies and greater. The higher the level of technology gets, the truer this becomes.

There's a lot more I can say about this. For now, it's enough to say that the same core basis used to rationalize, excuse, or justify the more "muscular, strong" reasons for supporting Trump also must lead to claiming that humans should be no more than crocodiles with oversized brains and fancier tool kits than the average lizard. Just hunting, mating, fighting and that's it. Nothing resembling "culture", or friendship, or even spousal or parental love. As said, just hunting, mating, fighting and nothing else.

That is precisely what must follow if it's true that manners, civility, and tolerance (three of the values we're supposed to teach children) are distasteful traits vis-à-vis strength, power, social dominance, and control - not to mention assuming our reptilian brainstem is the only source of proper human behavior.
