I know this is an hard concept for some to grasp here, but a teacher has absolutely zero business mocking a student's appearance especially in a racially charged manner.

This has NOTHING to do with "PC run amok" and it's irrelevant if you think it's rip roaringly funny. It is unprofessional behavior, period. I don't care if it involved a white student or any other race or gender.

Social media continuing to expose fools.

A substitute teacher in Canada is being investigated for posting a photo on Instagram that smacks of “anti-black racism,” school officials say.

The post appears to mock a young black student’s hair. It shows a picture of a small child in a classroom next to a picture of a character from the 1996 movie “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.” The character is brandishing a gun.

The post’s caption reads, “Who rocked it better? LOLOLOL.”

I thought Canada was free from this type of behavior? That's what the resident Canadians here say anyway. That being said, Social Media will be the downfall of humanity. It makes people really dumb.

No teacher should make fun of their students, period.
It's literally the opposite of what they're hired to do, and as such, she should be suspended or fired.

Don't be a Menace is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Marlon's hair is a running joke in the movie, and the kids hair is the same style. I don't think the teacher intended to make it a race thing, but it's inexcusable either way.

It's unprofessional but I don't see how it's "racist".

Oh well.

Sure, teachers really shouldn't do this; but Kid memes can be funny!

I see the hypersensitive crowd is shrieking racism.

It’s not racism.

That a teacher actually needs to be told that posting pictures of her students on social media is not acceptable is what's really incredible here.

That's what I was thinking. I always refuse to allow photos of my child to be used by the school in any way. If I found a photo of my kid on IG, whether the teacher was kind or cruel while posting it, heads would roll.
