no it doesn't. Especially not now when we have more jobs available than people who are unemployed. Stop imposing your imaginary scenarios and be realistic.
PCAL reminded me JANUS will soon have his natural rights of Freedom of Association restored by our wonderful Supreme Court.
I am not against unions. Just against closed shop state laws. JANUS will likely void closed shop status, nationwide, in public employment. That way, unions only get those shoppers who choose to buy their product as members. We are not told "You must shop at XYZ". XYZ competes for us. We should be free to join or not join a union, at the same employer-if a union has members there. Unions should compete for members to join. One by one, individual choice.
Go JANUS. Go SCOTUS.

lol, working stiffs hating on unions, the only line of defense the working class has against organized, concentrated capital. You are like a lone ranger up against a well-equipped platoon. The capitalist class will win every time against the lone worker. You cant find any countries with destroyed unions and a thriving working class. It doesnt exist.

Yeah, I and many people I know have been very encouraged that we're gradually regaining what we should have had and never should have lost all along - our Constitutional Rights. I'm hoping the fascist government days are over for a LONG time to come.

Of course it does. Without labor unions, no meaningful positive change for the working class can take place. Thats why all highly democratic countries have strong labor union movements. You cant just imagine that we can do this or that with the touch of a wand. We need labor unions. Without them, its oligarchy and rule by wealth. Keep supporting this oligarchy and the working class in America will be utterly ruined.

Wrong. I love Free Choice. JANUS can join and pay, not join, not pay, stay employed where he is, as that is a separate compact b/w employer and employee.

You love neo-feudalism masked as freedom and freeloading. Thats why the term "libertarian" is so absurd. Its like medieval lords calling themselves liberty lovers. Its nothing but private property tyranny.

Actually, the best line of defense the working class has is to constantly work on improving their skills sets. There are significant problems with unions in that they protect the inept and dead weight, and discourage showing initiative so a motivated, eager worker doesn't make everyone else look bad, etc. And that mindset makes ALL union members look bad.
If you read the article, the fear is someone will wait until they get sick to buy insurance. A waiting period would take care of that, similar to some life insurance policies.
