Nothing is great about it. It is tragic all around. A child died, another person’s life is destroyed. We need to educate young people not to try to flee if they are pulled over, along with end single occupancy patrol cars.

Probably a fair statement but sometimes in the interest of being brief you will get a generalized statement. It's sad because the guy that was arrested should have never been in the position he was to start with. It's another case where someone is fired from a law enforcement job and quickly lands another law enforcement job elsewhere. This has to stop.

Whoever hired him should also be held accountable.

We are the land of no accountability. This person should get the same treatment as Hillary. If he hollers let him go. He didn't intend to do anything wrong. He only wanted to stop a criminal from getting away. His intentions were good. His biggest mistake was not being politically powerful.
The real focus should be on selection and training.

As a law abiding citizen, I cant 100% fault an officer who shoots someone fleeing from a car where two guns were found and where it perfectly met the description of a car used in a shooting earlier. My assumption is that anyone in that car was armed and dangerous, especially if they decided to flee. Why let them run free and possibly cause more threat or death by more shootings?

Tragedy all around, but lets not pretend there weren't some pretty bad and avoidable circumstances that led up to it.

Unfortunately, he is going to pay because there was a lack of accountability.

If someone threatens you, you can kill them. If someone turns and runs, you are going to get charged if you kill them.

If they just fled a car used in a violent crime that was found to have weapons in it, you are considered armed and dangerous. Safety of the general public is more important at that point, unless you want to be kidnapped and held at gunpoint by a criminal who feels cornered and hopeless?

If you know someone is armed and they turn and run and you still shoot them, you will be charged. Police should never be above the laws others are held to.

It's also not the big problem. He should have never been an officer to start with. We see the bad ones get recycled quite often for something like this to then happen.

So an armed person involved with a prior violent crime who is actively running from LEO should just be given a foot chase and if it doesn't work out, then oops, they got away??

I don't know the officers history so I won't debate that part with you.
