I couldn’t make a judgment until I saw the video. Sounds like an impatient flight attendant. I know working with the public is tough sometimes but then not everyone has what it takes to deal with the public.

Not sure if we saw the same video but the one I saw started with a woman losing it and acting like a total mental case that needs to be Baker acted.

But I didn’t see what the start of this all was...,

Just before take off the flight attendant rudely told me to put my phone on airplane mode.As I was swiping to it the attendant menacingly stood over me with her arms folded waiting for me to do it. I told her, ‘I know how to turn on airplane mode, you don’t have to stand over me.’ She became agitated and said ‘If you’re gonna act like that we can go back to the gate and you can get off.’ I held up my phone to show her that airplane mode was on. She stormed to the front then came back to my seat and said we were going back to the gate. She then accused me of not turning on airplane mode after being ‘told to do so several times.’
And...

According to the Instagram post, after Miller stood up for DJ Reborn, a Latina woman two rows ahead, identified as Elena, “politely asked the flight attendant to sit down so that we could fly and the attendant snapped at her.”

You can see the video there, as well. The flight attendant and the lady with the phone were both relatively calm. It wasn't until other passengers wanted to get lippy that things went the way that they did.

Attitudes like that can get you kicked off of planes these days. Airlines seem to have a zero tolerance policy.

Most relevant - “a black woman”. I can now finish the article with that tidbit in mind to help steer my opinion. What a pos ny daily news

Delta is responsible for customer well-being and when you buy a ticket, show-up and board, you have accepted their terms.

This is a non-story and certainly not a "controversy".

Therefore: thread fail.

It should have been an SJW liberal White mother-in-law that started this.

I never turn my phone to airplane mode..lol
But I also don't sit there with my phone while the flight attendant is waiting for me. I'm not difficult like that.

Hence I drive 1100+ miles with 2 whiny kids to visit my parents in FL rather than fly.

Thank goodness of Ipods. Makes it 10000 times easier.

That is the key. The airline is responsible for the safety of all of it's passengers; not just one woman that refuses to listen to the flight attendant. Once that woman lost all of her composure and started screaming obscenities; she was a distraction at the very least. The attendants and crew could not safely do their job. She had to be removed as well as any that encouraged her behavior.

I am curious if disgruntled passengers are forever 'flagged' in the 'system' after a forcible removal?
