'celebrate' in quotes for reasons that will soon become evident. this reads like a bad joke.

How to Celebrate the 4th of July When America Is a Constant Disappointment
Quote:
America has always been bad, no matter who the president is or was. Since Trump’s election, however, the qualities that make America particularly bad—racism, sexism, homophobia, the institutionalized manifestations of each of these, et cetera—have been emboldened, forcing many people to reckon with the ugly reality of their beloved USA. “This is not America,” I keep hearing. But the truth of the matter is that family separation, a disregard for Black lives, homophobia, and every other incarnation of white male supremacy are exactly what America is made of.
some suggested 'celebratory' activities -

Quote:
5.Hold a reading of poems and stories written by people who’ve suffered hardships due to American policies, customs, and/or agencies.

6.If you sense that you’ve been invited to a patriotic party where you’ll be expected to wear red, white, and blue—and all but make out with the American flag—feel free to ditch it and instead spend your time volunteering to help resettled refugees or fight for gun reform.

9.Reach out to your local mosque, Black Lives Matter chapter, or LGBTQ center to see if and how they can use your help organizing or celebrating this Fourth.

10.If you’re planning a get-together, look at your guest list. If it’s homogenous in race, gender, and/or sexuality, question why, and think about who else you can reach out to without tokenizing them.

I see you painted a broad stroke with your title. Shocking.

I don't know about them, but I'll be drinking Budweiser and playing with explosives. You know... celebrating our 242nd year of 'Murican independence from the Mexicans.

I dont care how other people celebrate. I wish I could go to Ft Lauderdale beach to watch the fireworks, but I'll have to do barbecue at home because our dog panics with all the fireworks and celebratory gun-fire.

If so, what do you care? You took time out of your day to create a new thread for this?

So many of the posts you create have such an aggressive and angry tone. You're hate and obsession with democrats is a little creepy.

Log out of City Data and go get some fresh air. Maybe have a hot dog or a burger and a beer

the 4 g's are necessary to indicate the correct pronunciation. the extra y is not.

'hate and obsession'? i'm laughing at ridiculous leftists gnashing their teeth at the thought of 'celebrating' anything having to do with the USA.
you seem seriously triggered. burgers and beer are for tomorrow

Life is good, I'm always happy, the Conservatives are the miserable ones looking at everyone else to blame for their own misery and worried about how people celebrate things. You think I don't know what your user name means or it's intentions?
