I almost agree. What they are likely to get is a more polished person with the same or more Right wing political views.

Though, I don't think that Trump is all that unpolished given what has been thrown at him. A lot of what people call disrespect was absolutely necessary for him to win. The liberals tried long and hard to make him bow to their Overton Window, and he won because he did not.

I'll take disrespectful over losing every day of the week. The fundamental problem with most Republican politicians is that they will not.

That is so true.

I never would have voted for Trump if not for Clinton. Lesser of two evils.

As per usual, he's incorrect. He, along with other Republicans, want the Democrats to be the ones who compromise and meet in the middle. Why are we always told to compromise yet Republicans can continue going further right? That's a no for me. The problem we Progressives are having is the Democratic leadership doesn't exist; they don't have a message, they don't know what to believe in because their bought by the same donors as Republicans. Nah, the American People deserve better than that.

I disagree entirely that Trump was the lesser of two evils, but that's besides the point. Its sad how Democrats have had us, for too long, choose between the lesser of two evils. No more. We're tired of living in perpetual warfare, seeing an increasing police state, the undermining of human rights, an ever failing education system, et.

I voted for Hillary Clinton, and quite frankly, expected her to win. I am willing to admit that, but I, and my girlfriend at the time, planned to protest against her from day one. Just as Trump isn't a true conservative, Hillary wasn't a true Progressive. She adopted much of Bernie's platform, but we already knew what we'd get out of her -- pretending as if she's trying to fight for a Progressive agenda all the while implementing a conservative agenda.

Actually, and this is genuine, why was Trump the lesser of two evils? The only thing I can think is he'd be less effective of a leader than Clinton, and therefore he couldn't implement a regressive agenda as quickly as Hillary could.

Trump can be "polished" when he wants to be:

So you think the Dems should go full socialism?

Absolutely; no more compromising on us and pretending to be progressives when they’re truly Republican-lite. I am more than willing to negotiate on policy implementation, but I am not willing to validate a BS idea any longer. We all deserve better than what we’re getting today.

Why is socialism better?

I think to diminish the argument between what is or isn’t better does no one a service. I’m more than sure you have your views, and maybe you want to debate them in order for me to bring validation to your set of beliefs, but that’s not my job. If you ask me why should the US continue moving towards Democratic Socialism, then perhaps I can give an answer and think you, or any other person, is being genuine with their question but to frame it why is socialism better already gives enough context that you’re not looking to truly hear my beliefs.

And no, that isn’t to attack you but rather it’s a waste of my time and energy to pretend like I am actually trying to convince you that Democratic Socialism is better. You already know Scandinavia, I already know Venezuela, I know Russia, you know Singapore. Both systems have excellent examples, both systems have failures.
