Where was your FAA or Air Force? Where was immigration? Why aren't pilots armed? You keep bringing up govt failures to justify further ones.
On 9/11 the US employed 33 Air Marshalls, none of whom flew on domestic flights. Prior to 9/11 how would one have made a business case to do more.
All hijackers entered the US legally. 15/19 were citizens of US ally, Saudi Arabia. Two were from UAE and one each from Egypt and Lebanon. All but one entered on 6 month tourist visas. One entered on a student visa.
If I recall, only 1/15 overstayed his visa.
Once a foreigner is legally admitted to the US , he/ she is free to travel throughout the US.

The events of 9/11 were imagined before the event occurred. But our intelligence and security forces were the ones that were short on imagination. Leave it to govt to stick their head in the sand. And lots of innocent people died because of their short sightness.
Facial recognition software is being used by retailers throughout the US to collect data on foot traffic. Gender, age, ethnicity and time of day is tracked. Reward cards and electronic receipts track purchases. Presumably, it comes in handy when a crime is committed and/ or repeat shoplifters and employee theft.
No shortage of big box stores have outside cameras on parking lots that identify tag numbers.
Thats not freedom, thats the the price of the guv running it. Private airline security should use whatever measures it feels are in best interests of its customers. Oh but thats right you dont like private business calling the shots and discriminating.

As I see it, these guys are just doing their job. It's like a policeman who patrols a neighborhood. If he sees someone sneaking around behind a business, he might keep an eye on them. I agree some of the behaviors seem innocuous, like fidgeting or sweating, but no harm no foul.
It would be different if they were bugging someone's phone, searching their property or detaining them for questioning based on these flimsy clues. But just watching someone across the airport? Go right ahead.
Imagine that. People employed to observe others based on their behaviors.

This seems to be a credible assembly of warning signs, much of which was picked up by intercepted “ chatter”.
Everything becomes more apparent with the benefit of hindsight.
How likely would it have been to install appropriate measures to detect/ prevent a potential hijacking, let alone unimaginable multiple coordinated and simultaneous hijackings based on intercepted “ chatter”?
