Please people. Repeat after me:
These are private companies. Your free speech claims are complete and utter nonsense. You cannot force people to carry your nonsense. This is a free country, quit trying to make it one that isn't. Because your nonsense about fascism? Is complete garbage. In fascist countries corporations are FORCED to carry propaganda and lies. And a lot of you sure want to make that happen while screaming about your first amendment (which is NOT for this sort of thing), and fascism (which you want to help along by forcing companies to carry propaganda they disagree with)

They only apply their rules to one sanction, mainly conservatives, and let others say the most outrageous things imaginable. Hopefully, everyone, no matter their party affiliation will be fooled by these actions or believe You Tube has done an honorable thing. There is no honor in killing freedom.

I agree with French:

I think his nonsense often could be used to incite violence. That's likely one reason his malarkey was taken down.

Alex Jones is being censored because of the Sandy Hook lawsuit. Alex has claimed the massacre was a hoax, the grieving parents just actors, the video of the blood just fake. Similar claims were made by others about 9/11, that the buildings were empty, that the memorial services were a hoax perpetrated by actors. These tyes of stories have been circulating on Youtube for years and I'm glad they are finally being adressed in a way that holds the people responsible for knowingly spreading these lies. I have enjoyed some of Alex's broadcasts but these were in very bad taste. Another assault on the grieving families. I hope Alex loses the suit and loses every penny he made with these broadcasts. At some point, decency and truth trumps indecency and lies. The first amendment doesn't protect against defamation and slander. If the Jews could have successfully sued Hitler for defamation in the 1930's Germany, maybe WWII could have been avoided. As has been said before, all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing.

These big tech companies are basically pleading for congress to step in with this move. They are threatening our first amendment rights as US citizens. This is “abridging the freedom of speech” in our constitution and the most important amendment that sets us apart and protects us from becoming state controlled (China, North Korea) or living in an oppressive state (Iran). Bad move here

Exactly. This idea that the same party that said bakers don't have to bake cakes thinks companies should be forced to host hate speech is laughable. Let him take his diatribes to another platform. Freedom!!!

someone who encourages his followers to harm Jews by saying, "all jews should be killed", is inciting violence and is not protected.
It is protected. You CAN say all of that.

YouTube is not the Government, and does not have to let you use their platform for whatever you want to say.

There are Terms of Service that you agree to when you sign up, and this is detailed in there.

CBS and CNN are private companies, but they operate on Federally controlled bandwidth, and as such are subject to federal laws concerning that bandwidth. They are different though. CBS is free and CNN is cable, which frees them from a lot of FCC requirements as they are a "for pay" service and not available to the general public for no charge.

As stated earlier, the Federal Government specifically elected to not make the internet a public utility earlier this year, and as such they are under no federal regulation at all.
