So it's clear the Democrat party will be running on the Impeachment of Trump for the 2018 midterms. Put Nancy Pelosi & Maxine Waters in charge of the House and they may Impeach Trump for all the "high crimes & misdemeanors" they say he has committed.

So how well will the Impeachment Platform work for the Democrats? Will it gain them the House or cost them everything? And more importantly will Trump be impeached?

Just a reminder before folks grab the pitchforks and torches...

The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

Do you have a link?
I haven't heard that the Dems are looking for impeachment.

That's not clear at all. Haven't seen that as the platform.

If you meant to say that you think or feel that the Democratic party will be running on impeachment -- that's a different thread completely.

I haven't seen any strong -- one message platform yet from the Democrats.

I'll be looking for it.

Earlier this month I read an interesting article about how Democrats believe all the impeachment talk plays into Trump's hand....https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...chment/566636/

I do not see any Democrat in NC running on impeachment.

He will not be run out of Office. There are not 66 Senators with enough gumption to vote him out.

Congress will make his life miserable for the remainder of this term. And the 2020 Vote will be the most carefully watched Election in the entire History of Democracies.

If I want to know what the Republican platform is I don't ask a rabid Democrat.

Likewise, if I want to know what the Democrat platform is the opinion of a rabid Trump sycophant is less than useless.

If I wanted to watch people put words in other peoples mouths I'd rather watch a ventriloquist, at least they can do so with some passable level of skill.

Where are you coming up with this premise? Democrats, with some exceptions, have been very cautious about playing the impeachment card:

http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/4...not-a-priority

because they know it can backfire, like it backfired on the GOP with Bill Clinton.

The problem is that the Constitution doesn't define what is meant by "high crimes and misdemeanors". Clinton was certainly guilty of perjury, but Congress voted not to convict. Not because they thought he was innocent, but because his crimes weren't serious enough to warrant removal from office.

Having affairs with a porn star and a playboy model, paying them to be quiet about it and then lying about the whole thing, are despicable acts but i doubt that will get him impeached. Even Pelosi said "impeachment would have to spring from something else". Question is, what would be serious enough to warrant impeachment?

Actually I have heard the opposite but I cannot get over why that would be.

Congress under GOP rule has already made his life miserable.

Unable to "build that wall" or repeal "Obamacare".
