This is the elephant in the room when it comes to Trump's impeachment, especially if he is convicted and removed from office. I want Trump gone just as much as any other liberal but it cannot be done hastily or without undeniable proof of a crime. Why? Trump is a populist who is still backed by a very loyal base. Impeaching for the wrong reasons could cause our nation's ongoing "cold culture war" to go hot.

So what do you think? Is Guiliani correct in that Americans would take up arms to defend Trump if Congress tried to impeach him?

Oh I'm sure some of them will. I can imagine hard core Trumpets grabbing their rifles and trying to take over government offices. Or something.

I think Guiliani is doing some wishful thinking.

What are they going to do? Tear up their Medicare cards? What?

I concur with Gulliani. I posted on Facebook a while back that if they use this evil Russia baloney or whatever to politically impeach a lawfully elected President and then go for Pence (if he's not in on it) and put in a RINO or Dem, to gather an armed mob to storm DC and overthrow their coup government.

Nope.
Most of his followers are as gutless as he is. They have big mouths on the anonymous internet but when the chips are down they'll slink away. A WHOLE lot of talk and very little action.
And for those who DO revolt - lock them up! Lock them up! Lock them up!

Aside from that, there WILL be plenty of evidence when Trump is impeached.

Guiliani has that backwards. People will revolt if Trump isn't impeached when all the sleaze and corruption is finally exposed.

Rudy Giuliani is probably right, but there isn't going to be any impeachment, because there are no grounds for it. It's that simple. Rudy has said this too.

If the Democrats were to try to impeach the President, they would be cutting there own throats.

It will have an effect. Where it goes and what would happen no one knows.

The GOP would be writing their own obituary if they allowed it to happen.

The Dems would love to see that.

His zealots are going to be up in arms no matter how he would be removed. They'll be spouting off conspiracy theories if he just loses the 2020 election. He was setting up the conspiracy theories when he thought he was going to lose the 2016 elections. The dumb and gullible will be incensed if it ends in any way other than eight years - - and even then they'll start petitioning for a third term.
