I'll admit, I'm surprised at the track Kavanaugh chose to take. It's much more combative than I expected.
I'm sure Republicans will eat it up, but as a former Rep, now Independent, I find his demeanor appalling. The bipartisanship he's displaying and the diatribe he's unleashing is something No Supreme Court Candidate has done before - including Thomas when he was accused. I also find his opening statement, and the tone, to be unbefitting of someone who wants to be a SC Justice.
As for the FBI background checks mentioned upthread. Saying their have been six, what more needs to be done, shows how terrible a job the media has done in explaining how those work. Your first background check is extensive. The subsequent ones, less so. They are more based on current happenings in your life rather than the past. I say that as someone who has been subject to such checks multiple times.
I honestly do not know how I would act if someone accused me of something and I knew I was 100% innocent and had no way of proving I was innocent. I have no date to go on to prove I was somewhere else, nobody who was supposedly there remembers being there and it happened 35 years ago... And this lie was going to ruin the chance at my dream job I have been working towards for so long. I really don't know.

Yes. Crying is often a sign of anger suppressed, and he has every reason to be beyond furious. Liberals have shown how low they will go, destroying a man and his family, for political purposes. I thought the Clintons were bad, but the Democrats today are even worse.
