None of that is super unusual for rape cases though, that’s why they are hard to prosecute.
Victims are often super sharp on some details and fuzzy on others, because of the way trauma works on the brain. Plus it was 30 years ago, so why would any of the other people in the house even remember it? They never knew anything happened. Hell even the 2 boys in the room wouldn’t necessarily remember if they were drunk and had been that way with girls before. At the time, it wouldn’t have even been considered assault. It was just “trying to get some”. Drunk girls in a bedroom with you were fair game to many dudes. Hell any girl in a bedroom with you, especially at a party... she wouldn’t have to be drunk.
Yes it would have been assault.
She couldn't help being in the bedroom because she was pushed in there. Trying to hit on a girl does not involve surprise attacks and restraining them.

Yet again, he’s being judged on what someone else did. Just like they showed what his fraternity did, the comments of everyone in his high school yearbook, the fact that his parents had money. He’s on trial for being a privileged white male who grew up in the ‘80s.
And all the women with their stories about their own rapes have made him the stand-in for their rapists. It’s frickin crap!
We'll see what happens when the Democrats gain control of the Congress in 2018 or 2020. They have two alternatives that the MIGHT pursue, although given their track record at trying to appease the Right Wing, it's unlikely:
1) If Kavanaugh is appointed, pursue a full investigation, not just the 1 week sham that we are getting now. Assuming that the investigation brings sufficient evidence, begin impeachment proceedings against him.
2) Pass new legislation to increase the number of justices on the court - say 10, or 12. Then, appoint justices to those positions.
My problem is not that the other witnesses do not remember the assault or the exact night per se because of course it was just another party to them.... however, I find the fact that her friends says that she does not know Brett Kavanaugh and does not remember ever meeting him. It seems if Brett was as drunk and sloppy as Dr. Ford says that her friend would at least remember him. At least when seeing his HS pictures now at least saying "yes, I vaguely remember meeting him" or something like that. This is why I think Dr. Ford may be confusing him with someone else.

I keep coming back to the way she describes leaving her best friend, the only other girl there, alone with guys she considered to be dangerous. And then somehow, somehow, got home. But she can't remember how.
I am not so sure the GOP will approve him no matter what. There are a few GOP senators who may not vote for him. Again, there really is no clear evidence he lied under oath. Just interpretations of vague answers. Just like you must believe "Yes, I have had too many beers on occasion" is a negative answer meaning "no" when asked if he drank in excess. Some others may believe that is a "yes" that he had drank in excess.
I don't recall specifically what he answered with respect to being a violent and abusive when he drank to excess. No matter what, this new testimony that is emerging in the FBI investigation may not prove perjury, but it certainly proves that Kavanaugh is fundamentally dishonest. Such a person has no right to a life time appointment to the Supreme Court. He will get one anyway.
Kavanagh has been through 6 FBI background checks without a blip, but we are going to believe some dipstick making a last minute accusation.
I just don't believe it when progressives say that they believe Kavanagh is guilty. They aren't that stupid. This is all politically motivated, that is obvious.
Media outlets are focusing on Drinking habits 35 years ago. They know that Mrs Ford claims can never be proved. So the bizarre logic to deny Judge Kavanaugh is now he used to drink Beer when he was a student?? How much is too much to drink?
If BK's alleged drinking habits are so important, wouldn't Fords alleged promiscuity be as well ? I really can't provide any links to this because much of Fords history just doesn't seem to appear on the web. Was it scrubbed prior to all this ? Surely someone as prestigious as Ford would have some sort of online presence from past lectures, op-ed's, feed back from students, etc. Not a lot is out there other than current info.
News flash - if a politician's mouth is moving, he or she is probably lying. I don't care what party they belong to. The sooner people quit counting on politicians to tell the truth or behave honorably, the better.
I'd like to start with term limits for ALL elected officials, as well as the Supreme Court. At least we'd get to rotate out liars.
That's what I don't get. Why not pick someone else? I'm sure Trump has other people in mind. There is enough time to get them confirmed. Why is he so hung up on Kavanaugh? I'm surprised he didn't ditch him already. He tends to abandon loyalties to candidates once the poo-poo hits the fan, as it often does. Assuming the FBI finds nothing and they confirm him, the shadow of this will hang over him a long time and some Senators may lose support for voting yes.

Once again, the purpose of such a "smear campaign" is what? Trump will get his SC justice no matter what happens to Kavanaugh. The Democrats are always out to destroy him and his followers, right? IT'S A DEMOCRAT CONSPIRACY! It couldn't possibly be that they have actually done something wrong
