Republicans will drag this out to the bitter end in order to convince Evangelicals and others who want to see abortion illegal that unless they get out and vote for Republicans, they won't get their guy on the the Supreme Court.

Is this true? I've heard otherwise but I'm not really closely following the actual numbers.

This whole thing is crazy! But entertaining, that's for sure. So salacious! It's bizarre.

Like my husband said, it's like a combo of mix of TV shows - Dallas, The Twilight Zone, and I'll throw in Law and Order - not a real crime show because those might be too credible - only a fictional news show because this stuff is too orchestrated and over the top to be real.

Because the dems lost it on this one. Come on, really...he threw ice on someone, maybe? Oh goodness he still likes his beer...I posted about loving Craft beer earlier (maybe in the other thread) and how you can love craft beer without being a drunk...and not many responses...

And as for the BK's hearing, I cannot believe that those in the same situation (any job interview) would not act the same way? You've been accused of being a GANG rapist....ah yea, well...you know, that's just not true...Is that really all those on the left would do?

Also, he is being accused of something....last time I checked, when his is on any court, he is NOT being accused, so why do people think he would act the same way, when he is not being accused of something?

Sourced from here? If so, a linked source helps

Hint: he was standing next to a nodding Senator Coons during his statement.
President Trump was aware of the reports that are about to come out. He probably shouldn't have jumped the gun on it ...... but what he said was true.

Not only that -- Senator Grassley's letter to the Democrats makes it clear (and on the record) that they also knew of the problems with the Blasey Testimony.

Just saying - if you want to claim Ford is lying about something, use the same standard for the guy with his sights set on a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. At best he was "misleading" about his alcohol consumption, while under oath. At worst, he flat out lied.

You know, I think most people would be understanding that some students in high school and college get inebriated. And many of those get to the point where they probably passed out. The Venn Diagram of "Adolescents that party" intersects with "Adolescents that drink to excess." Yet, he wants us to believe that somehow the circle of "Twenty-something Virgins" is somehow part of partying, excess drinking teenagers?

Yeah, not sure who is buying that - other than people that simply want to believe it.

Kavanaugh is afraid that people would try and make the argument that if he did drink to excess and blacked out that it means that he sexually assaulted Ford. Like many have said, she has no concrete evidence. So why couldn't Kavanaugh simply be honest from the beginning? Honest about his drinking, honest about the meaning of boofing and devil's triangle?

It is really sad that Congressional aides went and updated the wikipedia entry to reflect what Devil's Triangle is... yeah - a drinking game. Sure. Keep bending over backwards.

It is sad that this spot on the bench is more about "winning" and less about finding the best person to fill the spot.

I do not want him on the bench. So him getting confirmed is not me "winning".
