”Blasphemous libel was originally an offence under the common law of England. Today, it is an offence under the common law of Northern Ireland, it is a statutory offence in Canada and New Zealand, and it has been abolished in England and Wales. It consists of the publication of material which exposes the Christian religion to scurrility, vilification, ridicule, and contempt, and the material must have the tendency to shock and outrage the feelings of Christians. It is a form of criminal libel.”
About 25% of the world’s countries and territories has anti-blasphemy law, including several Western nations.
If you cannot discriminate anyone against race, religion, etc. we shouldn’t be allowed to discriminate against religion (Christianity) either. Majority religion should be respected in America.
Prior to independence some American colonies had anti-blasphemy law.
1st Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Christians in this country are not being discriminated against. You can worship freely, in the church of your choice. Nobody forces you to believe or follow a state religion.
Any law that suppresses freedom of speech is against the Constitution.

I think you have the wrong definition of discrimination.
"InConstitutional Law, the grant by statute of particular privileges to a class arbitrarily designated from a sizable number of persons, where no reasonable distinction exists between the favored and disfavored classes. Federal laws, supplemented by court decisions, prohibit discrimination in such areas as employment, housing, voting rights, education, and access to public facilities. They also proscribe discrimination on the basis of race, age, sex, nationality, disability, or religion. In addition, state and local laws can prohibit discrimination in these areas and in others not covered by federal laws."
Churches in the US are necessarily out in the public market of ideas, trying to attract more adherents or members. As such, they are as much legitimate targets of humor, disrespect, satire & so on as any public figure - popular singers, politicians, etc. If churches aren't out in public, then they stand to be accused of being cults, & they're still subject to public ridicule.
Prior to independence there were no American colonies. They were British colonies, or French or Dutch or Swedish.
The United States Constitution in Article VI prohibits religious tests as a condition for holding public office.
To force everyone to be nice to the poor, put upon Christians. Because they are delicate little flowers who are persecuted against constantly. Why, some people even go so far as saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas! Is this to be tolerated????
Christians comprise 75% of the population in the U.S., but that's not good enough. It must be legislated that people not be allowed to say mean things about them, damn it!
(We need a "stamping your little foot in outrage" icon on this forum. It's definitely appropriate for the OP.)

There are laws against discriminating on the basis of religion so, we aren't allowed to discriminate against religion.

Good idea. A little Trumpelstiltskin figure. Trump and the Christers would like to abolish the freedom of speech.
OP has said in several other threads that s/he hates the establishment clause and thinks that the government should discriminate against atheists and non-christians. Also, that only christians should hold office.
So yes, s/he unabashedly does want those kinds of laws established here. Look up the OP’s other threads. A truly terrifying person, if s/he could only get some traction. Fortunately, s/he gets slapped down regularly.
In a way, I welcome the OP’s demented posts. Because the replies demonstrate that the overwhelming majority of posters here DO understand and cherish the establishment clause.
If your faith is so fragile that you feel threatened by anyone who challenges it or doesn't follow it, the problem lies with you.
