Even if the person suggesting libraries are a good thing in a community holds an opposing political view -- it doesn't mean a library isn't a good asset to a community.
Are you all so blinded by your party loyalty that you hate on libraries now?
Scattered stories like these have appeared in various local news outlets. The L.A. Times followed up last week with a trend story that got things just about right. "Crime, homelessness and crumbling infrastructure are still a problem in almost every part of America, but two cities have recently cracked down on one of the country's biggest problems: small-community libraries where residents can share books," Michael Schaub wrote. "Officials in Los Angeles and Shreveport, Louisiana, have told the owners of homemade lending libraries that they're in violation of city codes, and asked them to remove or relocate their small book collections."
remember folks the m̶a̶f̶i̶a̶ state doesnt like competition
I have a Kindle. My books are in storage next to my rotary phone and powdered wig.
I have no problem with private libraries. I don't like being robbed at gunpoint to support a "public" one though.
Current Book: Lysander Spooner: American Anarchist by Steve Shone
I love a Kindle, my husband likes a book. He goes to the library. He pays taxes and wants to support that.
Also I think it is important for kids to have access to books......free books.......and programs to encourage them to read so they can some day read Lysander Spooker: American Anarchist....and appreciate it -- just like you.

I have no problem whatsoever with libraries. I just don't believe people should be forced at gunpoint to pay for them.

Volunteering and volunteerism are noble causes, and can handle those things far better than the government.
