We have heard the phrase "Drain the swamp" used by Donald Trump for about three years now. Does anyone know if he means remove business legislations or remove corruption from politics?

I don’t think either of your options quite hits the concept. I’m no expert but I believe it means to remove professional politicians that have become so entrenched with special interests, lobbyists, and their political party that they don’t give a flying hoot about ordinary people except during elections. During elections those same people make promises they have no intention of keeping and even if they did, become so trapped up in the process that nothing happens.

Of course, he would know all about this, seeing as how he was one of the ones tossing out the bait prior to being elected. I will give him credit that he does make a credible attempt to keep the promises he made to his base - no matter how crass or offensive he is as he does it. I still want someone duct tape his mouth but I don’t totally hate the job he’s done so far.

You should have made it multi-select since there's a lot of overlap between the two choices.

Well these two are actually independent. Regulations choking business are only sometimes done because of corporate interests of bigger companies.

That and removal of pay to play politics. Trump rode that line hard saying he didn’t have to answer to anyone since he was independtly wealthy. But so far has done nothing to get money out of politics.

Yep look at his NRA 180 turnaround. The guy is the same as the old boss. Nothing changed just where the corruption existed.

It very well could be what you say but it is hard to know. I think people who do say it don't even know what it means or that it means one thing one time but means something else the next. All I know is the majority of the swamp isn't changing or if it has, it is just that the swamp moved five feet over.
