A wall would not stop this form of "immigration". They are not crossing unprotected frontier. They present themselves openly at border checkpoints and ask for asylum. Before we build a wall, or concurrently, we need to come up with a way to admit the thousands of low skilled laborers we need each year to fuel our economy. There is both a supply and a demand at work in these migrations.

If Trump puts troops along the border I will be okay with that. This is an invasion.
Why not do a little research? Do you know what "troops on the border" can actually do? They have NO authority to arrest or in any other way enforce US immigration law, all they can do is sit at the border with binoculars and tell CBP when they see someone attempting to cross the border, or Army Engineers can repair the existing wall. Trump just opens his mouth and spews out lies and nonsense, the PCA (Posse
Comitatus Act) Prohibits US military or National Guard doing what you seem to want them to do at the border. https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/06/polit...ity/index.html

i agree there should be stiffer penalties for hiring illegals but that is a separate issue that doesn't really belong in this thread.

Nobody can walk 1700 miles in a week, so obviously they aren't walking the whole way.

There is video of people being loaded into trucks, and we know they are also using trains to transport these people.

This is a pre-planned, well funded operation to bring these people here.

LOLOL.

And folks will eat it up -- never questioning why a party with control of the House & Senate blames the opposition for not being able to pass things.

How dumb can we go.
They need 60 votes in the senate, so some democrats are needed, otherwise this would have been done long ago.

What utter nonsense. E-verify has a high rate of efficiency. The so-called glitches would be corrected in a short time. It wouldn't put citizens out of work because the program would be initiated prior to hiring someone. It's not expensive to use either. How the hell would it drive up ID theft when detecting that is a part of e-verify?

And everyone knows that the DEMS will filibuster the bill and can you tell us how many votes that requires? And secondly, do the repubs have that many?

See that won't happen because businesses actually benefit from it. If the businesses get something from it, it won't be dropped because let's face it, the businesses control the Congress. Even the president benefits from foreign labor including H1-b visa holders.

KEY EXCEPTIONS TO THE POSSE COMITATUS ACT
A summary of key exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act follows:3
• National Guard forces operating under the state authority of Title 32 (i.e., under state rather than federal service) are exempt from Posse Comitatus Act restrictions.
Pursuant to the presidential power to quell domestic violence, federal troops are expressly exempt from the prohibitions of Posse Comitatus Act, and this exemption applies equally to active-duty military and federalized National Guard troops.4
• Aerial photographic and visual search and surveillance by mili- tary personnel were found not to violate the Posse Comitatus Act.

410 U.S. Code Sections 331 through 334 provide guidance. Section 332 states: “Whenever the President considers the unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the United States, makes it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any state or territory by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, he may call into federal service such of the militia of any state, and use such of the armed forces to suppress the rebellion” (Lujan, 1997).

https://www.rand.org/content/dam/ran...R1251.AppD.pdf
In my opinion, and many people’s opinion, this is an invasion. Regardless, few can argue that it doesn’t fall under the category of “assemblages...against the United States”.

We need an emergency meeting of legislators right now to change the catch and release law!

Dems not for mobbing the border? let's see them vote to stop baiting illegal aliens with catch and release!

Let no one enter from that mob.
