A wall would not stop this form of "immigration". They are not crossing unprotected frontier. They present themselves openly at border checkpoints and ask for asylum. Before we build a wall, or concurrently, we need to come up with a way to admit the thousands of low skilled laborers we need each year to fuel our economy. There is both a supply and a demand at work in these migrations.
I have a problem with this “asylum” program. One guy talked about the government kept coming to his business asking for money and making threats, so he’s coming here. That’s not asylum! Neither is bad or poor conditions, or husbands beating wives, or gangs, or most of the other reasons. Fix your countries!! Can the people of the Southside of Chicago get asylum in Canada because the police are corrupt and there is a gang war going on? No.
If Trump puts troops along the border I will be okay with that. This is an invasion.

Mandatory e-verify and prison for employers who hire illegals a second time and you end 90% of illegal immigration without a wall or armed guards, but that won't happen because Republicans won't ever pass it without huge carve outs for workers in the industries that they get their campaign donations from.
i agree there should be stiffer penalties for hiring illegals but that is a separate issue that doesn't really belong in this thread.
Can anyone imagine walking a thousand miles? Some carry large sacks of belongings and babies in their arms. It is simply mind-boggling. I can't think of any group of immigrants in our history who have endured such hardship to get here.
Nobody can walk 1700 miles in a week, so obviously they aren't walking the whole way.
There is video of people being loaded into trucks, and we know they are also using trains to transport these people.
This is a pre-planned, well funded operation to bring these people here.

What utter nonsense. E-verify has a high rate of efficiency. The so-called glitches would be corrected in a short time. It wouldn't put citizens out of work because the program would be initiated prior to hiring someone. It's not expensive to use either. How the hell would it drive up ID theft when detecting that is a part of e-verify?

• Aerial photographic and visual search and surveillance by mili- tary personnel were found not to violate the Posse Comitatus Act.
410 U.S. Code Sections 331 through 334 provide guidance. Section 332 states: “Whenever the President considers the unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the United States, makes it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any state or territory by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, he may call into federal service such of the militia of any state, and use such of the armed forces to suppress the rebellion” (Lujan, 1997).
In my opinion, and many people’s opinion, this is an invasion. Regardless, few can argue that it doesn’t fall under the category of “assemblages...against the United States”.
