As Twitchy told you last night, a group of women outed as sexual assault survivors (in some cases incorrectly) in a campaign ad for Democratic Sen. Heidi Heitkamp are currently exploring legal action. With good reason.
What Heitkamp’s campaign did isn’t just reckless and outrageous; it’s also potentially very dangerous. At least one woman outed in the ad is now reportedly fearing for her life:
"Kady Miller of Bismarck is one of the women named in the ad, but says in a Facebook post that “A lot of these people listed, including me, did not give anyone permission for our names to be posted.”
“I don’t even support Heidi Heitkamp and I am not a domestic abuse survivor,” she continues."
"That news broke this morning, and now a group of women who appeared in the campaign ad have issued a statement saying Heitkamp’s political agenda has ruined their lives, and they’re searching for a lawyer."
To be fair, that didn't appear until after my post, even though it's time-stamped 20 min before. Thanks for the correction though.
