Would you casually hang around and take photos of a live bomb that could detonate at any second for your twitter account? I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't, they'd get the hell out of there. But Jim Acosta didn't get the hell away from the bomb. He knew ahead of time it was fake and wouldn't detonate, just as none of them have.

There were multiple press reports to this effect this morning. Obviously the bombs are undergoing great scrutiny at present, but it was thought they all had explosive capacity upon first examination by the authorities, and great precautions were taken accordingly in removing them and transporting them to Quantico for further examination.
That's not really the issue, though, is it? The possible incompetence of the bomb-maker/would-be political assassin is fortunate for others, but the threat and intention are still the same, and it's clear this is an extremely dangerous individual who needs to be intercepted asap.

Thanks for the additional definition - as I am not a video gamer (real life is a lot more interesting and entertaining), I had not encountered this silly term previously. Certainly doesn't describe me in any way though as you note, the supreme irony is rather delicious, considering the source.

You do realize this is probably one crazy person, right? You are dealing probably with a sample size of ONE PERSON, perhaps not fully rational. Has it occurred to you that not every single crazy criminal on the planet has a high degree of bomb making competency? Or maybe that the person is more focused on sending what they think is their message than actually ensuring the devices go off?

I do not think our comment above is contrary to what I wrote previously at all - how did I misunderstand anything? The "item" might have been a purposeful fake - or it could have been an incompetently made bomb that the sender mistakenly thought was explosive. In any case, as you and I agree, taking precautions was the right thing to do.
I stated what was being reported on the news earlier today, when it was believed that the devices were functional explosives. Because they were later determined not to be explosive does not change that previous early assessment. In any case, caution is always wise in such terrible situations, and proper caution was exerted.
Now on to the next steps - find the guy, stop him, investigate him and bring him to justice.
