In today's society, this is the current hashtag trend, next month it will be #COMEBACKTOUS and they'll all go right back. There's a certain group of people in this country who do whatever they can to get on youtube and get that like button smashed on their instagram pages. I imagine the walkaway trend will be similar to the other social media trends we've seen.
If they are doing it, and walking away from a political party, good for them or whatever, but I feel it's more about getting someone to notice them and being narcissists.

Works for me, I walked away from the libs years ago, though I always keep an open mind. But to me this is a personal decision and not something I need to share on YouTube. If it gives them strength, I'm ok with that too.
