If you want a genuine honest answer, though. Why wouldn't I want to live in a utopic world? Why wouldn't I want a world free from hunger, murder, theft, greed, etc--all the terrible things that we humans foist on one another? Why wouldn't I want to live in a world where not only I never suffer, but neither does any of my fellow man?
Again, it's not realistic, and striving for equal opportunity is probably the best that we can do. But, perfect should never be the enemy of the good.
Personally, I have far more trouble of understanding the dog-eat-dog, every man for himself mentality.
Explain the rational for someone who works and saves their butt off wanting a guy who slacks and doesn't pay his bills(but has the same opportunity) to have the same outcome? That would kill productivity and progress. That's exactly what would be done if you wanted to stagnate instead of progress. I'd really like to see where the US can take our advancements. I have no interest in retracing ground we've already covered and this Christian rule thing that some are pushing for is third world ****.
Having said that when I see someone pay 39,000 for a purse when we so many Americans, let alone the world's population, struggle to live it does make me think...OH COME ON!!!!!
I'm not the one who wants socialism or communism, you're asking the wrong person. You're going to have to ask the socialist or the communist. There's plenty of them on this forum.
As for the last paragraph: So. What. What are you going to do about it? Do you want to force that person to spend their money on those who are struggling?

You've got it backwards, sport. "Equal outcome" is the darling of the left. The right pushes equal opportunity.
Yes, because, just to name one thing, trying to gut the ACA and potentially leave millions uninsured or underinsured with pre-existing conditions would certainly qualify as "pushing equal opportunity."

I was trying to walk you through how your mind reading may be a bit rusty. You know, kind of how what you said makes no sense.
I have no answers as to the inequality in our world. It was simply my own personal observation on people starving to death in other countries, homeless in our own and someone buying a 39,000 purse. I'm not about to tell other people what to do with their money. If I ever have enough wealth to buy items like that I would rather give it away than be a consumer.
Are there examples of people wanting equal outcome? I'm curious what the questions are based on.
One example is how the left wants to eliminate grades from education. They don't want Donna 'D' getting her feelings hurt because Andy 'A' scored better.
Another is how prevalent "participation trophies" are now in youth programs because it hurts the feelers of the losers who can't win a championship trophy.
