Yes, I believe in meritocracy.

But what makes people think that everybody will perform the same work to the same standard? That is delusional and not in accordance with reality.

What crumbling empire? Like Ferguson? That is why it was not answered. It does not exist, now that Trump is at the helm.
What is to discuss. It does not exist, poor people are not armed..... That gun doesn't feed themselves. The cities could use a little culling.
