Videos show third-world Democrats cities compared to world-class Republican ones. (drug, soldier)

High violent crime rate in Portland from the desperation of the people who could easily be helped and if they had lower unemployment rates and more jobs.
Yes, I’ve seen the antifa one where they direct traffic. These people are pretty rude and obnoxious. Portland is known for being a liberal city like Seattle and San Francisco. Who would want to walk on streets covered in human filth? San Francisco was a fine old city before politics destroyed it.
Recently, I went back east where I was raised and drove through a dozen small, clean towns. Not one yard had piles of trash sitting there. I was shocked because in rural Washington, a left leaning state, people pile trash in their front yards like it’s a badge of honor. I’d forgotten how clean some places are.
I was trying to come up for an explanation to this and decided that legal pot and a ‘so what’ attitude on drugs and homeless attracts a lot of riff raff. Might not these other blue states be attracting the same riff raff? At any rate, political ideas do make a big difference. Not saying all Democrats like living around crap, but enough do to continue voting and living like this.
My God, could Trumpees be any more desperate ? These mid terms must really be getting to them, they are posting weirder and weirder stuff every day. I feel sorry for them, they are almost groveling for any shred of security they can muster.
I am not looking forward to how despondent they will be after the 6th. If we think they are bad now, I can not image how off the rails they will be on the 7th.

"South Salt Lake, South Ogden, and Kearns lead the state with rates [of depression] more than 29 percent; Provo/Orem comes in at a close second at 28.3 percent." https://www.heraldextra.com/news/com...691127866.html
"Happy Valley? Maybe not so much.
Or, at least not for everyone.
Utah ranks the highest in the nation for the percentage of adults who have experienced any mental illness in the past year. That was 22.3 percent;"
Now, this is only one small facet of Provo, of course. But it counters the superficial notion you seem to have gleaned from viewing parade videos of Provo. Instead of being the happiest, it actually has one of the highest rates of mental illness, including depression, in the nation. There are multiple reasons why that would require a nuanced discussion. But simply being "ultra-Republican" doesn't make for a happy city.

I go into downtown Portland often, and I’ve never seen anything like what you’ve described.
Oh for crying out loud, I'm a staunch conservative supporter and military veteran and I know that no matter which city you go to visit you will find an extremely bad area that most folks avoid. I have been stationed in Denver, Colorado Springs, between Vacaville and Fairfield California, Dayton Oh, Anchorage, Honolulu, and Las Vegas. Each city has amazing places to visit with lots of cool things to do, and each city had homeless people and neighborhoods that you quickly learned not to go through.
It doesn't matter who is in charge most of the time, it usually comes down to variables like weather, military bases nearby, and how they were affected by which ever economic downturn happened last.
