I go into downtown Portland often, and I’ve never seen anything like what you’ve described.
If downtown Portland is clean and dosen’t have a lot of homeless, that’s good. I was referring to the antifa video being shown on this thread. There is no reason for these thugs to harass the public and have nothing done about it.
As far as dirty trash filled yards, yes Washington has plenty of them. I’m trying to understand why and like the OP, have concluded a lot of it is political.
How come the "Ultra-Republicans" in Bismarck and Provo are dressed up like British soldiers from the Colonial War? Are they disappointed that we are no longer under British rule? Or are they wearing red to show solidarity with tRump's very best friend ever over there in Russia? Strange bunch of conservatives if you ask me.
When are you ever going to realize that people can see right through your endless posts with carefully cherry picked pictures of liberal vs conservative towns? It's child's play to find whatever image you feel like using courtesy Google and the World Wide Web. Here are my entries in the lying with pictures competition:
LIBERAL DENVER, COLORADO! - HAPPY PEOPLE IN CITY PARK OFFERING HOPE AND SUPPORT FOR THOSE SUFFERING FROM MENTAL ILLNESS
CONSERVATIVE COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO! SOME MEMBERS OF THE CITY'S HUGE HOMELESS POPULATION
I know which city I'd rather live in and pictures NEVER lie!
Denver is a cruel city for the homeless and disabled as opposed to Colorado Springs.
As someone born and raised in Colorado and having lived in both, Denver has always been a cruel city towards the disabled, elderly or homeless compared to Colorado Springs.
I am not a fan of Colorado Springs personally, but it has a far better track record when comes to compassion then Denver.
Seems as though Colorado Springs police under the leadership of a conservative Republican mayor being pro-active and trying to help those who need or desire it.
Democratic Denver lets the urine, feces, illicit drug use accumulate with few offers of assistance to the homeless until it gets cold and then they send the cops swarming in taking away blankets for older homeless people mainly.
Liberal Denver seen here sending swarms of police out and taking homeless blankets away

Those people in the video are not Representing any political party, and most people in Oregon don’t like their reprehensible behavior. They are thugs, and I agree with you on this issue.
Also, I’ve never said that downtown was perfect, there are many homeless who will get aggressive if you don’t give them money, but unlike San Francisco, I’ve never seen human waste on the streets of Portland. You will always have more homeless people in milder climates.
I live on the far west side of the metro, so I really don’t have to deal with much of that, the biggest worry we have in our neighborhood are raccoons.
