The epitome of this kind of place is Alaska, like where these people live off the land, hunt and eat what they kill. I'm too old for that, but thats the kind of thing I'm shooting for.

Good luck. If you want to live in isolation away from population centers, you are dependent on government regarding public lands, hunting license, etc. I get that you won't be out tearing into raw meat from your tent! But I think it is a fantasy that you can go somewhere, including Alaska, where there is no election effect. Maybe you should think in terms of states. I hear northern Idaho is low on restriction in gun life and other personal freedoms.
And if you're in an RV, what about roads/bridges/infrastructure? Healthcare? Elections have consequences and certainly in our daily lives, wherever we are.

Well the best place to retire is out of the country where you wouldn’t have a vote anyway but your dollar stretches much much further. Panama is a big expat retirement destination right now.

I have always been looking to move to AZ or TX as states that are far saner. After tonight I may have to rethink that.

Not if the democrats have their way. They will make hunting and being self sufficient illegal.

That's my plan, if Trump gets reelected, then the people who want that clown can have him, he won't affect my life anymore.

The trick is to "detach" yourself from the collective as much as possible while still remaining within the hive. I suppose you could do that in the wilds of interior Alaska, but that's definitely for the young, hardy, and outdoor experienced types (and people who love to wear parkas). Southeast Alaska is another option.

There is a book that I quite like titled "Strategic Relocation" (Joel Skousen) that covers a lot of topics that may interest you concerning relocation.

You might also think about another country: Chile, Uruguay are promising. Costa Rica, Panama are also popular, albeit a bit higher in cost for "gringos."
