I'm not sure if a thread was created about this. But it looks like ABC was cleaning house within its organization. Instead of getting fired, Channing Dungey took the easy road out by resigning from her position from ABC as an executive. Channing Dungey came under fire for swift removal, firing, and canceling of the Roseanne show after Roseanne made tweets which appeared to be offensive in poor taste. The firing of Roseanne Barr cost ABC a hit show which had 15 million viewers. Channing Dungey recreated the Roseanne Barr show without Roseanne called the Conner's which is not doing so well without Roseanne. It looks like Karma is coming back to haunt Channing Dungey due to her firing of Roseanne Barr. With that said, the lessons of Roseanne will be a teachable lesson. Yes its the best thing to fire people for what they say, however context must be reviewed, as well as is it worth while to terminate a good employ, and the cost of firing a good employ to find a replacement who is equally as a good. But also why its not the best move to fire someone swiftly for racist or sexist speech off of clock hours.

No one talks about it but ABC ratings have been on a steep decline all year long. It is called a boycott. Seems the execs at ABC know this.

I seriously doubt that Channing Dungey ( who I never heard of btw) acted completely on her own on canceling a show. As far as ABC ratings being down - all the alphabet channels are losing viewers. I don't know what ABC is losing more than CBS, etc.

One show normally doesn't make or break a network.

The article posted by the OP details the 3 year tenure and problems associated with this latest network executive change this year alone. No need to speculate and fabricate why and what. I don't see why the OP is making this all about Karma and that it is somehow shameful to negotiate the move as a resignation as opposed to a firing.

Read the article it does indeed state, " Dungey's story feels most illustrative of the challenges facing networks and their chiefs in an increasingly difficult landscape."

Legacy TV is in bad decline. ABC,CBS,NBC, Fox, CNN, etc. are all going by the wayside.

Some idiot reporter at ABC is catching hell internationally for stating that Crimea belongs to the Ukraine. Of course not covered domestically.
