I read it, you're not missing much. Andy Puzder is the CEO of CKE Resturants which owns Carl's Jr. He's not an economist.

He argues that, on balance, the economy under Trump is better than under Obama; there he's not wrong. But, the only connection he makes between the economy and tax cuts is some grandiose platitude about "unleashing American capitalism." Which, is funny - because corporations have eliminated more jobs then they've created since Trumps tax bill.

Quote:
Since the tax cuts were passed, the 1,000 largest public companies have actually reduced employment, on balance. They have announced the elimination of nearly 140,000 jobs — which is almost double the 73,000 jobs they say they have created in that time. About half of those net losses came from companies in the restaurant and leisure industries, the analysis found.

Sure, the taxs cuts provided stimulus for the economy. That's true. What is also true is that the fiscal situation has only worsened as a result, especially while Trump boosts military spending through the roof. Sure, it looks good for Trump now, but he won't be around when this coms home to roost in the ballooning deficit.

This seems like a sequel to the "Trump's the greatest on economy" thread. Just a rehash. Nothing new.

Must be in a memo sent from the Kremlin.

Historically, growth is faster following a recession. The Obama 'recovery' was the slowest recovery in a century. The fact that the Fed had to hold interest rates at zero for his entire tenure says it all.

This Small Business Saturday, let’s celebrate the fact that it is Main Street – not Wall Street
https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/this...ot-wall-street

What a great week to be thankful for small business. Now that the small-business half of our economy is once again vibrant, the slip-sliding stock market half no longer has to mean that America is economically unstable.

The past decade featured many years when America’s entrepreneurs were struggling. They felt ignored and battered by policies coming out of Washington, D.C. – especially by the health-care disaster known as Obamacare. Family-business owners were persistently pessimistic; they weren’t hiring or growing and they knew President Barack Obama’s administration didn’t understand them, and never would.
