The great jobs and benefits were already in decline before Reagan put his hand on the bible and was sworn into office. What action was union shops implementing to save cost on employment in the 70s? Re location to the southern states where the wages were lower and non union.
I am not so sure if it was a well conceived slow burn process or was it a natural occurrence that was bound to take place no matter what.Corporations mission is to increase profits and reduce expenditure which employment is a major chunk. Once wages get pricey in China the corporations will be looking for a new play ground most likely surrounding Asian nations or Africa.
