Only because it's extremely politically incorrect in this country to not adore Abraham Lincoln. I would place him just under George Washington and Thomas Jefferson in the "national heroes" category. Being critical of Lincoln is like being critical of the flag and conservatives don't stand for that. With that said, the modern GOP is the party of the Confederacy and really should disavow Lincoln.
