We treat them far better than any other country considering them coming here illegally in droves.

Also these BP stations are not clinics that have full medical staff. These places are also now completely overwhelmed due to all of the thousands of people coming here. They were not built to process and care for this many people at once.

Instead they will most likely sue for negligence and end up millionaires. Just another example of what illegals cost this country daily. I’m very sorry this child died as it isn’t her fault at all but it’s not ours either. Plus this probably happens more than we know from dying out in the desert or river and nobody finds out about it.
It happens all the time. Look up how often ranchers along the border stumble across dead bodies on their land. It’s a very dangerous crossing, and these people are putting their trust in Cartels to escort them here. They’d be far better off organizing and trying to improve their own countries, or at least waiting to come here legally.

What is baffling is people blaming the CBP for this death, when clearly it was her parents who absolutely put the child in harms way and due to their neglect the child died.

Maybe we should suspend all people from every country from coming in because of what they might bring with them? West Nile hopped a plane and just about decimated our crow and blue jay population here. I've taken care of a few people that have died from it in our area.

The child's fever was from untreated heat stroke and dehydration. These are not infected animals and dehumanizing them is despicable. You would have a better chance of picking up something in an airport than you would from migrants. Your fear mongering is aimed at the low information crowd that need hate to feed their agenda. It's sad, it's wrong, and this is not who we as fellow human beings should be acting towards desperate people doing desperate things to escape intolerable situations. This is not just happening here, it is a global problem.

What happened to that child is tragic, and it's a symptom of a greater problem than who is at fault for her death. Some of the shameful, heartless comments I've seen here just make me shake me head and wonder how we as the greatest nation on the planet could stoop so low?

I've watched children die, and it doesn't matter if they're black, white, brown, or yellow. It's a tragedy, and devastating not only to the family members, but also to us as health care workers that tried and failed to save them, and yes I've cried about it. It's horrible.

That poor little girl died a terrible death. I'm sure her father didn't think it was going to turn out that way. I'm sure he's devastated. To minimize that is heartless.

Border Patrol are not health care providers and there is chaos when you're dealing with large numbers of people. I can't believe for a minute that they would ignore a child in crisis. Creating instant orphans by separating children from their parents without any plan in place to reunite them is another issue that has left a stain on the Border Patrol and policy. Yet I still give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they did what they could for her when they realized that she was in trouble.

It’s like blaming the cops who discover an abused child locked in a parent’s basement with no food or water for days, and then blaming them for the death of the child after they rushed the child to the hospital. I’m so sick of these people and their idiocy. They’ve got it in their head that Border Patrol and ICE are akin to the KKK, and nothing will shake it. Why don’t they go try to do that job and see how they fair?

Lol. You must be joking.

An intake form signed by the girl's father said she wasn't sick, wasn't sweating and seemed mentally alert. The form was obtained by The Associated Press.

Immigration officials briefing reporters say the girl's father told officials that she was sick and vomiting when they were on a bus heading to a Border Patrol station. When they arrived 90 minutes later, the girl wasn't breathing.

Emergency personnel revived her twice, and she was sent to an El Paso hospital via helicopter at 7:40 a.m. She died Dec. 8. An autopsy is pending.

So sick of the "what's happened to US"? Who is US exactly?

I sure was hoping so, but the midterms didn’t inspire a lot of confidence in me. I guess we’ll see.

Hopefully the parent(s) responsible for her death are prosecuted and locked up for a long, long time. Pathetic excuses for human beings.

Well.... Not by us. They should be deported back to the place they came from.
