You've aptly described the Republican party to a tee, and I agree with your assessment.

Bernie's proposals aren't "free" and they will greatly help the working class.

Medicare For All: expansion of an existing program. The higher payroll taxes needed to pay for MFA will be less than what most working families pay now for overpriced private health insurance. The middle class will get better coverage for less money.

Affordable Public College: middle class wins again as families won't have to go deep in debt to send kids to college. Middle class kids who graduate will be able to buy homes and cars because they aren't $100k in debt. It's good for the middle class and it's good for the economy.

Living wage: If all full-time workers were paid enough so they can support themselves, they would no longer qualify for government assistance. Taxpayers will save billions because fewer food stamps and EITC would have to be paid out.

Trickle down economics doesn't work. If you really want to make America great again you've got help rebuild the middle class. Healthcare, education and decent wages will do just that.

What protections for workers are Republicans in favor of to justify calling yourselves pro-worker? Your entire "pro-worker" position is based on the economy doing well. You're only pro-worker in so far as employers can make good on delivering jobs and wages. That's not pro-worker. That's pro-employer.

The Democrats' idea of being "Pro-worker" is to tax working Americans to pay for social programs that they use to buy votes from people who don't work.

The Democrat Party is the party of people who don't work.

Democrats play to three groups these days:

- the wealthy that keep themselves segregated behind gates, walls, zoning regs, and private security from the unruly masses while virtue signalling that they care for the less privileged
- the welfare crowd that in exchange for endless entitlements provide the critical mass of voters the Dems need
- the racists and sexists amongst us who judge everyone based on color and gender and decry free speech while preaching to the rest of us about tolerance and equality.

The Dems no longer have room at the inn for ordinary working people.

I agree, by reducing the number of illegals in the country and keeping others out, you make sure that the labor supply is restricted and employers have to pay decent wages to Americans who in turn are able to pay for decent healthcare and education.

I'm an 'ordinary working person' and so aren't my Democrat friends.

So much for that incorrect assumption
