Westerners don't respect the culture of the places they visit. "Adventure" travelers, go out to take risks and like to go to ****hole countries rather than safer first world countries. Then they do not want to stay with groups, go off on their own to do something stupid and get injured or killed. They die even taking selfies on the edge of a cliff in some poor country where people are starving, but they think is cool and exotic.

You are correct. Many here stomping their feet about pulling out of Syria have a long history of damning the US for being interventionists and killing civilians and ALWAYS had consistent calls for bringing the troops home. Now all of a sudden they are all for it. The only is answer is what you said. Absolutely no underlying principles. Their only principle is to get everything they want the way they want it and will transform on the drop of a dime to get it.
