"Believing in stupid things a candidate says is indeed stupid!" I'm STILL waiting for my $2,500 a YEAR savings and all those "shovel ready" jobs promised. "I guess we DIDN'T have as MANY shovel ready jobs as I thought, ha-ha" but the 800 BILLION was spent anyway, just NOT on shovel ready jobs.
Obama wasn't shoveling jobs, he was shoveling ....

The Constitution does not recognize or mention political parties at all.
There is no "betrayal." These two statehouse legislators are perfectly within their rights to switch parties.
If the voters don't like it, they can boot them out at the next election.

This thread is just sour grapes.

"Elections choose the PERSON who will serve, not a political party."

BUT, MANY people vote for the PERSON from a particular PARTY NOT the PERSON.

I voted for many dems until I found out they HAD to follow along with what the PARTY LEADERS told them to do or else the party would NOT support THEM by backing their issues.

If you DON'T do what the party leaders tell you to do the will NOT back YOUR issues.

Look at history. When the dems controlled the House for 40 STRAIGHT YEARS NOT 1 Freshman elected to the house had a SINGLE BILL PASSED they submitted.

You had to "due Your time" first and "prove" you were a true party supporter.

To do this right after an election seems fraudy.
Shouldn't be allowed either way.

Looks like a biased report to me.

They can report the facts and let us the readers decide how to interpret it. I am interested in the reasons these people themselves give for their actions one way or another, not in the report's opinion about it.

FWIW, politicians have been switching, realigning or abandoning political affiliations since this country was founded. There is always a reason.

Sucks for those people solely voting by party, then. Karma is a ***** like that.

And what is wrong with changing after the election ? After all, Donald Trump ran as someone who was going to do all these great things for America BEFORE THE ELECTION, and then he changed to a buffoon who can't get a darned thing done, once he was in there.

That's the one thing about Trump for which we can be thankful------that he's failed to achieve any of the campaign threats he made.

There wouldn't be a single politician left if you were required by law to stand by your word. Can you imagine if these pieces of defecation had to live by their own rules?
