OK, I'll use smaller words.

tRump sez "Mexico pays!"

Then tRump sez "No! Taxpayers pay!"

Immoral.

Get it?

What these Washington lifers voted for several times in the past is now “immoral”. Evidence of how far the left has gone in the past 10-15 years.

They say they want border security, border patrol has said the barrier would be a huge help. They are afraid of their base simple as that, $5 billion is nothing. Most likely both sides will have to give up something that their base is against. DACA for $10 billion in barrier funding and modernized immigration laws would be a great starting point if Washington actually wanted to solve a problem instead of playing childish games.

Trump is literally damned if he does and damned if he doesn't as far as they're concerned.
NO. Dems and 70% of America know it’s all smoking mirrors at a very high cost. A wall will stop nothing as long as we hire the illegals and snort their drugs. Big money controls a lot more than the average Joe comprehends - ps. More illegals now jumping through Canada. - than the southern border

What we need is information widely distributed to let illegals know that everybody that crosses illegally knows that if they are caught..and they will be caught...they will be deported immediately. And we need a larger national effort to make sure that happens.

Illegals don't know what is required to enter US legally...that information needs to be implanted into their heads. Also the consequences for violating that trust should be widely known and they should be aware that it is strictly enforced.

It is beyond ludicrous to have to spend 25 billion to make that happen.
They already know that if they make it to California they are home free. Even if they commit minor crimes or are lucky enough to not get caught committing major crimes.

Ding Ding! Winner winner chicken dinner!

He knows he is in hot water and he brain farted his way into this mess.

We will probably see the 25th amendment get some serious debate behind closed doors soon.

What's irrational about it? Illegal aliens cost us over $100 billion a year not to mention the criminals, drug runners and those from know terrorist countries that are sneaking through our border also.

Was it irrational for congress to pass the actual wall bill back in 2006 also? I guess it's only irrational now that Trump wants it funded and built?

The Berlin Wall was hugely successful. It acted as a deterrent to most crossers and having it manned by guys that were authorized to shoot was a big factor in that.

Today our wall would be a deterrent to the casual border jumping trespasser but it would also have electronic means to monitor which would alert the border patrol that someone is messing around.

Not to mention a GOP potus took down the wall.

What is going to happen in the future when more and more caravans of would be illegal aliens keep showing up at the border expecting to be granted entrance? It happened again the other day when about 100 tried to force their way in but were repelled by tear gas.

Do you want someone that forced their way into the country, breaking the law being your neighbor?

A few brought up "the fact" that more guns are smuggled into Mexico then out of it so I would ask the Anti gunners out there, Don't you care about the poor people that will be victimized by those guns? A border wall would slow such illegal activities.

Others brought up that walls haven't worked since gun powder was invented... Ah we are not talking about an armed military force... We are not talking about Pancho Villa making a run into America to raid a town but who knows it could happen. Walls, barriers, fences all stop and prevent people from getting into places they should not.

Should the fences be taken down at the White House? How about the walls that protect Israel?

So far the consensus on this thread is that we don't need a wall which means people are Ok with illegal immigration. I think that is sad and dangerous.
The Berlin Wall was 27 miles long. Had over 300 guard towers and 55,000 land mines. I.E. a terrible analogy. And if we replicated that on the Mexican border we are talking trillions.

They say they want border security but then they want anyone who gets to the border and says the magic word "asylum" to be let in, and the far left coaches illegals to say that magic word so that they can get in.

Now that NY's Gov. Cuomo has commuted the sentences of 4 murderers and a bunch of other criminals in hopes of keeping them from being deported upon release we have entered a very dangerous new phase. It is hard to comprehend that anyone would be against deporting convicted murderers, yet that day has arrived.

They want open borders plain and simple. That's what all the evidence points to.

Vast majority of drugs come through legal ports of entry, so a wall won't make any difference.

Guns are illegal in US
