Armed blacks have ALWAYS been a big deal in this country. Sure, if marching as some part of a military or paramilitary organization, then whites are at ease.
But if you get 100 unaffiliated (from an officially recognized paramilitary or military organization) law abiding licensed black men to walk down the street with guns in ANY American city, law enforcement would bust that up rather quickly. And if they didn’t, those men would come under scrutiny worthy of a suspected international terrorist. That march would be heavily infiltrated by law enforcement.
Yep, the NRA supported gun control when the Black Panthers had the weapons. Scared the sh*t out of then Gov. Ronald Reagan that he supported stricter gun control measures that led California down the path of having some of the strictest gun control in the nation.
There are still many black gun clubs. There are two national organizations for black gun owners.
I know.
Still, the Second Amendment wasn’t written for African Americans, and from what I can tell, it still doesn’t apply to us.

I hope this thread isn't asserting that the NRA and its supporters are concerned with the rights of people of color.
If you could take the "gun" out of this topic and simply analyzed what race was affected the most liberals would be calling them racists laws. I don't believe them to be intentionally racist but nothing will change the fact they disproportionately affect blacks.
The NRA is a lobby group funded by gun manufacturers, and their only goal is to sell more guns! It just happens that the primary consumers of guns today are steeped in racist stereotypes and fear of the other.
Statistics show that half of all guns in the United States are owned by just three percent of our population. The motives for gun ownership have diminished over 250 years, as our nation has urbanized, the frontier has vanished, and most of us obtain our food from the local grocery store, not the forest.
Sure, there are still rural populations who encounter bears and choose to hunt for food, and weekend hobby shooters — but the greatest driving motive behind American gun sales today, and that to which the NRA and conservative lawmakers pander, is paranoia!!

It should. It's one of the rights bestowed onto us by our creator, not by government.

The primary reason for gun ownership is to prevent tyranny in government.. All that other stuff is irrelevant.

The very first challenge to the 2nd Amendment was after the Civil War(Who figured!!!)
It denied freemen their full rights... Their 2nd amendment rights.
The SC ruled the US Constitution does not effect the States only the USA. The Southern States were allowed to deny Freemen arms and Militia.
This very ruling is the precedence used for every gun law to follow. It is the key.
McDonald v. Chicago changed all that. It was never challenged until then. McDonald v. Chicago reversed the precedence all gun laws are based upon as "constitutional"
You realize most "gun grabbing legislation" comes from Democrats, right?
Reagan ended open carry in California because blacks seen openly carrying is scary to the HOA dwelling lily white elite do gooders and elitists that believe what's good for me is not for thee.
