There sure are a lot of trade experts on C-D.

I haven't got a clue if the new trade deal is better for workers and American companies than the old trade deal and neither do the posters parroting their favorite partisan talking points articles.

The new trade deal is a mix bag of uncertainty and could have many different looks and out comes. For example, take the $16 an hour for 40% of the auto workforce in Mexico. What effect would that have? one of course would be more money velocity in Mexico and maybe increase wages of part suppliers and other.

Imagine making $16 an hour in Mexico with low low cost of living, a guy would be making bank and have him a couple of Mamacita's. Hmm, could cause some reverse migration and many returning to Mexico. Or could it be it would cause some off shoring, like in the future there will be the new " VN8Mustang" VN is Viet Nam and it is a fast 8 cylinder.

We could see different out comes but partisan or not we all know there will be big time inflation on the price of cars.

Another to consider is this deal could be unwound by the next POTUS and congress. It could be the new trend to undo as much as possible when the other party is in the WH. { see Obama} The majority of our leaders have a more global out look in trade and foreign policy.

I was thinking about this because of the negotiations with China, doesn't look like this is close to being approved either here or in Canada.
