I'm all for states experimenting with programs, but none of these politicians seem to address the fact that many doctors don't take Medicaid because the reimbursement rates are too low, and there's a shortage of doctors especially primary care doctors and especially in rural areas.

It seems really crazy to cover illegal immigrants which will encourage more to come to the U.S. That will just make the healthcare shortages worst and increase the cost.

I doubt many illegal immigrants come here soley for healthcare. Believe it or not many poor countries including the ones in central America, and south America already have universal healthcare for their citizens just look at Columbia.

Politicians have no business planning everyones health care, only the individual does.

I wonder how much these Medicaid policies that people would buy into would cost.

Actually some states are kicking thousands of poor people off of Medicaid since Trump is allowing waivers.

I read somewhere that it is a violation of the law to incentivize foreigners to come here illegally. How then can the governor of California or the mayor of NYC promise that illegals that they will all get free health insurance?
