Let's say you were going to buy a car and one powered by coal was the cheapest to run over the next 70 years, it would seem like no brainer if you were considering the current cost of the fuel especially given the stable cost of coal over many decades. However if there was the possibility regulations would make the cost of utilizing vehicle impossibly high it becomes a significant risk to purchase that vehicle.

Correct and the reason for that is automation, every industry in the entire country utilizes less workers for more production.

Somebody working at Arby's isn't making $75K a year. Furthermore considering all the jobs that were lost under the Obama administration this is significant improvement.

A janitor at a coal mine, now that is humorous. The bulk of those jobs are going to be skilled; mechanics, welders, machine operators etc. Generally speaking they all make more money at coal mine than the industry average for that occupation. Overall most jobs in the fossil fuel industry pay very well whether it's coal or oil/gas. For the fossil fuel industry as a whole they would include engineers, chemists, IT professionals, surveyors, geologists etc. If you have job working in the fossil fuel industry you are likely making real good money.

In addition to making decent money you are also considered to be employed in that industry if you work for the company at whatever level.

Metsfan also reminds me of people who claim that, even if you've served in the military, you can't be considered a veteran unless you've been shot at.

Beyond stupid to make some kind of a failure on Trumps part.
Not a failure- just a lie to his own base.

He couldn't have done anything even though he tried.

But his lies were massive - and instead of talking about retraining and moving into the future (like Hillary), he told them he was bring it back.

And he didn't. Period. Another lie. Just like better cheaper health care for all.....

Neither Trump nor his supporters care about results. They care about SYMBOLS.

Democrats would do well to understand that.

You'd think after three years of 24/7 Trump-coverage we would've figured out that you can't fact-check him to death.

So again you can’t refute my point. But please keep attacking me to compensate for it. Typical Trumpster

Great, except you’re bringing in a whole mountain of points that have nothing to do with topic at hand. And again trump said coal miner jobs not jobs for coal companies. I don’t see a ton of unemployed chemists on the dole in WV, do you?

No, it's just that you refuse to accept commonly understood concepts like "working for a coal company" means working in the industry.

Would you say the tipple operator at a mine is a coal miner even though he had nothing to do with getting the coal out of the ground? He works for the company and handles coal.

Probably not, but he's considered a coal miner and is included in the employment statistics.
